Photography of Richard W Brown
The photography of Peacham’s own Richard W. Brown was featured in the Historical House Annual Exhibition. These images are among those featured in his latest book, The Last of the Hill Farms, published in 2018 by David Godine, and designed by his wife, Susan McClellan.
The photographs show a vanishing way of life on the small family farms that were still prevalent when he moved here in 1971. The people and landscapes in these pictures will no doubt evoke memories of a time when Peacham was still predominantly agrarian, a time when it hung in the balance between tradition and change.
The exhibition opened Monday, July 4th from 11-4, and was open after that every Sunday from 1-4 through September 4th, Labor Day weekend, on Saturday, August 13 during PAMFest and then once again on Fall Foliage Day, Thursday September 29.
